This is the ultimate in teamwork …
The FAA started the fireworks fundraising program over 20 years ago to support and provide an opportunity to raise funds for the FAA and community youth sports leagues. It is a program that provides employment opportunities to Folsom graduating seniors, college students, or available unemployed adults in the area of security and booth management.
Fireworks booths are delegated by the City of Folsom Fire Department by way of a lottery system. Fireworks applications are entered into one of five categories (athletics). This is the ultimate in fundraising and teamwork, where all of our partnering youth sports leagues pool their volunteer resources to work collaboratively in staffing the fireworks booths, and in return, share in the profits.
Annually, approximately $50,000 is distributed to our community youth sports league. For the FAA, proceeds are used to fund the scholarships for youth sports and high school graduating seniors involved in sports and extracurricular activities.
